French sensation Djibril Cisse has set his sights on a move to Liverpool.
The Auxerre striker is expected to leave this summer and having been linked with Gerard Houllier's side for the past year, says he wants to move to the Premiership.
Houllier and Auxerre boss Guy Roux are close friends and even Cisse admits that the pair have probably discussed a summer move Merseyside following Liverpool's failure to reach next season's Champions League.
Olympique Marseille, Cisse's hometown club, are also interest in the 21-year-old, but he has told Liverpool he is waiting for them to make a move, despite seeing the likes of El Hadji Diouf, Bruno Cheyrou and Salif Daio struggle after crossing the channel.
"What's sure is I'd like to go to Liverpool," he said. "There's always the danger of failure but it's only by playing abroad you can test yourself. If things don't go alright I'll bounce back."
Cisse says the pressure would be less than at Auxerre and wants to step away from the limelight he hogs in Le Championnat.
"Sometimes all the media attention gets to you," he said. "Cisse, this, Cisse that. And you're punished if ever you miss a goal.
"It's a lack of respect to my team-mates. They put their share into the job, too."
