Auxerre ace Cisse targets summer Anfield move
Auxerre striker Djibril Cisse has revealed he would love to join Liverpool in the summer and is relishing the chance to "test" himself abroad.
The France international has been a long-term target for Gerard Houllier as he looks to improve his striking options and the Reds boss has already confirmed he will hold talks with close friend and Auxerre boss Guy Roux over a possible big-money move.
And Cisse has now confirmed that he wants the chance to prove himself on the English stage.
He told French sports daily L'Equipe: "What's sure is I'd like to go to Liverpool. There's always the danger of failure but it's only by playing abroad you can test yourself. If things don't go all right I'll bounce back."
Houllier, who has also been linked with Auxerre centre-back Jean-Alain Boumsong, may face competition from Marseille for Cisse's services.
