i'm just watching Miracle on 34th Street and there really is nothing better than a good festive film to get you in the mood.
I'm keeping National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation for christmas eve and Love Actually for later.
Wednesday night is Scrooged but any other recommendations?

Scrooged is great

A Wonderful Life?

If you have young kids there's a whole load...Nightmare Before Christmas, The Cartoon Version of the Grinch

Bad Santa is a good one for a more adult audience

Miracle is a wonderful film, but Its a wonderful life is a much better film. Frank Capra is a genius.

Its a wonderful life is my fave christmas film of all! It never fails to bring a tear either. :)

I also like "One Magic Christmas" and "Funny Farm" which isnt strictly a christmas film but has a great christmas scene in it!

i've not seen that one - what's it about?

Dudley Moore is one of Santa's elves in the North Pole, he's like chief elf. He leaves for New York to make it on his own but falls in with an evil toy maker who wants to destroy Santa Claus. It's actually a great film, I've been watching it since I was a wee kid and it's always been one of my favourites.

He's very good in it. It's tradition every year that we all sit down and watch Santa Claus. In front of a nice open fire, put out a few bits or bobs to eat, pour a few drinks, we all sit and enjoy it just as much as year before.

another one i haven't seen! i love vince vaughn too - i would have like jennifer aniston and him to have got together.

Yeah they were together for like a year but it didn't work out. He's all settled now, getting married and a baby on the way. You should watch Fred Claus, it's good.

i still haven't seen It's a wonderful life, believe it or not. I've bought it for my husband for a Christmas Eve present so maybe I'll watch it then.

One of the great film moments.

Watch it alone. Undisturbed. With a bottle of your favourite tipple.

What about this one. This film kills me. Its up there with national lampoons Christmas vacation. I know its about thanksgiving, but its got that wintery warm hearted christmas type of fun all about it.

If not Die Hard, then I'd recommend 'It's a Wonderful Life', Erica. I've just finished watching it. Classic film, makes me cry everytime I watch it.
