Very raw, technically and physically, but when he pulls it all together he's very difficult to handle.

Absolutely tore Brazil apart in the Brazil-Ecuador match, and they have one of the best defensive records around.

10 goals in 17 games for Ecuador is quite impressive too.

Good signing I think.

On the same level as Messi... That's what his agent/advisor claims, and I can't see why he would lie.
 
Very few South American strikers cut it in the prem.

I reckon he'll be more Alfonso Alves than Carlos Tevez.
 
Christian Benitez is a good ST. He's got good movement and he is a good finisher, plus his shooting is also good and can go for headears if asked. His pace is very very good and he knows how to keep the ball.

He had a number 9 in the back of his head last final Santos player, kind of Cisse in that aspect, that is relevant.

Anyways, I think he is about 23 and he could do well for Birmingham, I mean if Rodallega who was shit here is doing decent at Wigan I don't see why Benitez can't do more than well at Birmingham.

i saw him against Brazil in a WCQ...did well was one of Ecuadors best players but seemed to be a bit shit at finishing...not sure though i mean it was only one game. strong,quick...

His wiki says heart attack, BBC says car accident, some other sites claim appendicitis complications leading to respiratory arrest.

I officially don't have a clue now.
 
Sad news. Didnt him and Valencia come through the same boot camp.
 
Just looked it up, and his two kids were only born in 2009. Four years old, and they've lost their father.
