Just listening to his latest solo album (produced by Timbaland).

It's very different, I'm digging it. It's not amazing, some good tunes on it.

I rate Cornell amongst the top singers, loved Soundgarden / Audioslave.

One warning if you don't like Timbalands music then avoid this album as it is essentially Timbaland tracks with Cornell over the top.

I wanted to like the album before i heard it as I think the idea is great combining Cornell / Timbaland both from very different genres. In the current state of commercial music / commercial artists providing little in the way of uniqueness.

Production wise the album is incredible, Cornells voice is as good as ever.

From first listen i'd give it 7/10, however i have a feeling it'll be a grower.

Brilliant voice

But the guy's lost the fecking plot a long time ago

Soundgarden was/is one of my favourite bands of all time. Breaks my heart to see what has happened to him

Ive only heard one track but it all just seems so wrong to me - I mean seriously, Chris Cornell and Timbaland?

He's obviously going through some kind of midlife crisis though bar 'Seasons' he's never been any good on his own.

Lest we forget.

I was going to give this a go till I read that.

Superunknown was one of the best albums of the 90's. Brilliant stuff.

Also anyone that likes Chris Cornell or Soundgarden should check out Temple of the Dog if they havent already. Only one album but its absolutely brilliant

Has anyone listened to the album properly yet or just snippets?

I've listened to bits again and think it's pretty good. I think the idea / concept is brave & probably better then the actual execution.

I love the way the press have reviewed it though, most of them have totally missed the point, their reviewing it as if it were a soundgarden / audioslave album.

It's probably not fair to Chris Cornell but he is and forever will be Soundgarden. I remember buying Soundgarden records with great anticipation and listening to them and it was all just a unique feeling. If you are truly into Soundgarden I personally think it is almost impossible to listen to Chris Cornell singing in any other band. I didnt even like RATM when he was there, it's like you know that Zack is RATM and that's it. Both singers are too great singers/performes/personalities and it will always sound 'wrong' to hear them do anything else. I respect, of course, Chris' decision to try and do something different although I personally will never understand it (but that's also because I cant stand Timbaland).
