Chilton as new Lancs skipper

Personally I would have given it to Law, but at least Chilton is a local lad. Our current squad isn't exactly replete with candidates so he is as good a choice as any.

Peter Martin has waved the white flag in his battle with injury. Hopefully he'll stay on as a coach; he is great with the younger bowlers, something that Cork and Chapple certainly are not.

To be honest with the amount of talent in the team last season ( we were favs to win the title weren't we? Or one of them) there has to be something seriously wrong.

I also would have opted for Law, the Aussie has a mental toughness to succeed, also would be well respected by the players due to his record.

I think the Aussie mentality is ideal for captaincy but I do not know what Law is like in the dressing room.

This is a critical year coming up for Lancs, they have to get it right!
