Completely useless, isn't he?

I'd rather have Januzaj or Nani playing ahead of him never mind the other three strikers whenever we play this 3412/343/352 or whatever you want to call it. The strikers in this setup have to be much more multifunctional and spend a lot more time out wide than in a typical front two and Hernández just isn't suited to that at all. It only serves to highlight his limitations and make little use of his strengths.

I'm very fond of him on the whole but if we're going to continue playing this way then I think it's best for everyone if he moves on.

We may as well play with 10 men. If anything he's detrimental to our play.

I think its because we've had so much of the ball and Swansea are looking to sit back and counter. It leaves little for him to run in behind the defence and besides that fact, our CMs and Mata are getting closed down quickly by an organised side and aren't finding openings to play anyone in, let alone Hernandez

The two forwards have to be technically gifted for it to work (Van Persie, Rooney) and it helps if they are quick and can beat a man (Januzaj, Welbeck).

Hernandez doesn't really fit in unless we are dominating the play and pushing the fullbacks far higher up the pitch.

Want him sold - offers nothing in general play. Now watch him nick a goal.

He's not at all suited to the modern game. He'd have been a world superstar in the 90's, but things have changed.

Massive overreaction against Hernandez. Has brought down the ball well a couple of times, and tried to get in at the far post. We haven't had the final ball to take advantage of his movement really. I can think of one time he mis controlled it.

He's such a limited player. He'll score you goals if you create chances but in a system that requires the two forwards to be heavily involved, he's pointless.

He's off now as I expected.

He's not good enough at linking up play to thrive in a Van Gaal team IMO.

He should only be coming off the bench. Our football is simply not as good when he's on the pitch. Great poacher but not a good enough footballer unfortunately. Looks like Lvg might have seen that in the first half half with nani coming on.

Yep, our wing back play is deeper now and he was far more effective when we had people getting in behind and playing it back across the box. As much as he was poor under Moyes, he suits that style far more. He can't beat a man or make things happen from outside the box centrally, and hasn't got the ability to link up quickly with the other attacking players.

I'd much prefer Januzaj there.

He's not useful in a 352.

He got us to a CL final though at the top of a 4231 with Giggs and Carrick in midfield.

But I'd rather give the minutes to Wilson.

Yes, there is no place for him here.

Probably should be sold. Thanks for the service and all that. He is a great chap but not good enough.
