Looks tidy, combative, energetic and has a decent variety in his passing. Promising.

Everytime I’ve seen him play I’ve been impressed.

Id look to get him a championship loan this season.

Reminds me a bit of Matic but less ponderous in his play. Was impressed by his range of passing and his calmness in possession. Always seems to have time on the ball which is a mark of a good player surely.

Showed a lot more about him today than in the first game. Some lovely lofted passes, good close control and plenty of hard work and fight.

I like what I've seen so far.

Is there much competition in his position for Wales?

Center Mid is probably the weakest area for Wales right now, wee Joe Allen is getting up there in years and the likes of Jonny Williams have faded which is why Dylan Levitt already has 10+ caps. If Charlie is playing regular games he has a great chance to make the squad.

I was really impressed, more so than Zidane. His vision is top notch. He’s closest to Frenkie in terms of playing style. I don’t think he’s too far off from being a permanent fixture in the first team.

Caf was expecting Mejbri and Garner to shine this tour, but we got Iqbal and Savage instead. Football is weird sometimes, but I'll take it!

Looks comfortable in possession and very two-footed. Passing need to be more crisp and accurate. Promising!

His defensive actions were very good against Liverpool and today he showed his other side where he made quite a few forward passes, a couple of line breaking ones. In both games his touch remained exquisite

Thats the great thing with sport isn't it ? take your chance and never look back. ETH definitely seems keen on them.

That was a really impressive performance.

What I like about him is he seems to be putting the perfect weight on a pass.

He's showing a fantastic range there, but even the long passes are landing right to peoples feet or just far enough for them to run onto it without having to break stride.

If he doesn't make the first team come the start of the season, he should go on loan. He's way above the u23 level now.

One of the only benefits of having a first team midfield as bad as ours is that emerging young midfielders will get an opportunity. This lad is clearly taking his.

I don’t watch the youth sides anymore; is this lad supposed to make it, or is this a surprise?

Most feel he is decent enough to have a pro career but I don't think anyone was expecting him to make it here. Not going to get carried away by a couple of pre season games but he has shown another level in these games and it may be he is an example of the right player meeting the right coach to elevate him. He is almost certainly the beneficiary of Garner picking up that knock in training as I imagine it is Charlie rather than Zidane who has taken Garner's spot in the team.

He had a good game but the reason why his performances look like he could be used for us is because the competition isnt very high at this moment in midfield. Fred played well again, but didnt look a million miles ahead of Savage. And McTominay other than his goal didnt look ahead. With the goal maybe

If we sign De Jong + Eriksen the chances deplete

Looked very good. But should we rely on him next season? I remember very good performances in pre-season from the likes of Pereira, Cleverley, Gibson and even Possebon.

I dont think either Savage or Iqbal was considered among the most exciting or promising youngsters. In other words, if someone say that they are more likely to play in Championship than the PL, they are probably right. But than again, look where Bruno was at 22. Or how few rated McTominay at 18-22. Solskjaer played at amateur level at 21.

In the end, keeping yourself grounded, working hard trumps talent. There could be a future at Man Utd for them, but as for all youngsters, the odds are against them for now.

I like this boy a lot. Probably won't get the same hype as Iqbal, who has also been fantastic, but Savage has that Carrick/Alonso (trying not to get to excited) style about him. More often than not, he's been the deepest midfielder of the two collecting the ball off the defence and spraying the ball left and right or through the lines.

Really impressed me so far.

Very strong performance. Noticed number of times he was in tight spot and had easier options of back pass or side pass but he didn't come under pressure and lost the sight of what a midfielder supposed to do, that is build the attack unless absolutely impossible.

I love that quality is any midfielder, be it center or attacking. In all the tactical complexities there lies two simple basic principles of football, one, break the attack when you don't have the ball, and two, build attack when you have the ball. When I see a midfielder I want to see his passes start or continue the attack. Only a confident young midfielder can take that risk and come out with success. Otherwise there are plethora of youngsters who pass sideways and backward to retain possession. It gives false feeling of "compactness" and "reassuring" but add minimal value to the game.

Well done Charlie, if you reading this.

I've enjoyed Savage more than Iqbal. Showing intelligence and bravery beyond his years, really knows how to control that midfield area. His passing another pleasant surprise, almost Scholes esque.

A pleasant surprise of the pre-season tour so far. Doing the right thing, and doesn't look (too) fazed by all of it. Hope the good form continues.

Looks better than his dad already. Weak opponents but he looked like he had time on the ball and always looked forward. Just needs to cut out those crossfield balls across his own box.

I would be happy to see him and Zidane get a squad number this season and play a few cup games. I think being in and around the first team would do them more good than a loan, given our record.

Looks very good with his left peg. I'm interested to see how he does under a bit more pressure. He had a lot of time out there

I've been impressed with his displays so far. I always thought Svidersky looked the better of the two, but his game has translated well to the step up to the first team. Very industrious on and off the ball, retains possession well and when given a chance to get his head up has shown a very nice range of passes.

I don't see him threatening the first team squad this season, but I'll definitely be keeping a keener eye on his development. The focus should be finding him a good landing spot for a loan.

Wonder if he'll end up regretting rejecting our offer and leaving this season with hopefully Savage and Iqbal getting soke game time.

He's looked very good this tour.

His dad is so proud of him and can't stop posting about him, must be such a surreal feeling. Lovely to see.

Wow.
He's had 1 appearances in a dead rubber european game, and you think he's not far off being a regular starter?!

If we don’t get De Jong this guys gonna get a major look in

He has go out on loan and play regularly - he won't do that at United this season. He could follow in Garner's footsteps.

His decision making is very good. Think he could have a role to play this season albeit as a rotation option.
