Charlie McNeill | Signs for Sheff Wed

Well that was underwhelming after scoring a bazillion goals for City unders

Struggled in league 1 and 2 so far. Shows how different the level is from youth football where he scored a bazillion goals

Good luck to him. I'll never forget the bazillion goals he scored.

That haircut is even worse than Foden’s. Kids these days, they need to be shaved bald until they learn that hair is not a right, it’s a privilege

Whilst I wish him all the best I don't understand why we held onto him so long. For 2-3 years it's been said on here when speaking about our striker shortage that "we have nothing voting through the academy"

I’m pleased for him as I think it’s the right level for his skill set right now. Definitely a poacher by trade but he actually showed a bit of development in his all round game when he was here. If he can build either his strength and tenacity he could he one of those that get goals regularly at lower levels.

You would think a poacher would have more than 12 goals in 47 games for our under 21s and 3 goals in 23 games for League 2 and League 1 clubs

He's got a little bit of speed and can link up with teammates in some decent moves and passes but goalscoring has been a problem for him

Highlights from his League 2 loan at Stevenage where he got 2 goals and 1 assist in 20 games

To me poacher would refer to his style of play as rather than how prolific he was getting goals in both a poor under 21 team and a Stevenage team not creating the chances he would need to score.

I did highlight his improvement in his link up and runs in the channels as to why I think he added strings to his bow but I think he was low on confidence too for a while.

You can never tell how a young player can improve and I think goal scorers of his type both suit the lower leagues and are maybe a dying breed? Just to confirm I’m not saying he will be a success however I can see attributes that may take hold.

He's not the first nor will he be the last. If anyone can figure out that magic formula for the step up from youth level to professional level with have found a goldmine.

Yeah he's really not a poacher. That was my point.

He's fairly well rounded but his movement and finishing are not good enough to trust him to be your goalscorer. He's now got a move to a Championship struggling team and that might prove to high a level for him as a striker who doesn't get on the end of the things and score goals. Or it could be the making of him and he improves his weak areas. The previous loans and performance at lower levels suggest he'll have done well to have a championship career.

Wish him well.

He arrived with a very good record but never really looked like he had the high level of attributes needed to break through here. Only really did well here with the U18's. Didn't excel at U21's and struggled out on loan in league one and two so has been obvious for a good while that he'd have to leave and take a drop or two down in level.

It's a good move for him, but think he'll struggle to break through into a big club at championship level and can see him having to drop down again out on loan. Hopefully he'll start delivering somewhere next season - either at Sheff Wed or out on loan - and can get his EFL career going.

I think his instincts are in and around the box naturally when he came especially and for me he was uncomfortable when he first came linking play and spreading the back line. I think he improved his overall game in his time here but not necessarily enough for those to be attributes that would be his go to for me, especially in senior football. Each to his own though.

If he gets a a early goal it could add to his confidence and he could flourish. Which was what I was saying in the first place really.

In the matchday squad for the second time in the last 14 matches. Yet to make his league debut for them.

Funny that he played an actual competitive game for us.

Made his league debut today, coming on from the bench for the last few minutes at the end. Another ex-Red Di'Shon Bernard got booked twice in the first half. 2-0 win for Sheff Wed regardless.
