Bit of a non event, but still a chance to disturb this Aussie side right before the WC. In case you didnt know the CH series is a 3 match ODI series between Kiwis and Aussies that alternates in venue every year.

First match in Westpac Stadium (The Cake Tin) in Wellington, Aussie, without Gilchrist, Ponting ( rested) and Symonds, Clarke and Lee (injured), batted first and batted abysmally on a low slow wicket, making 149 all out, with their run rate never going over 3, with Bond taking 5 wickets. In reply Us Kiwis are 81/0 off 17 overs. :)

I was going to start a thread earlier titled "FAO Kiwi fan" but then I forgot. I saw a little bit of the match. First 30 overs or so. Fantastic bowling from NZ and the Aussie batting seemed to have no depth for a change. Really happy to see Bond doing well. Hope he plays the entire WC.

Nice win but I just pray that Oram hasn't done anything serious to his finger with that catch

If it's true, then any realistic World Cup chance just plummeted

If it is a fracture it shouldn't take too long to heal so I pray he recovers in time. You are spot on though Justin, Oram is the difference of us having a real good chance of winning the WC or having no chance at all.

What's the normal recovery time for this type of injury? 4 weeks?

Best-Two to three weeks
Worst-Four to five weeks

So it will be touch and go whether he makes the start of the tour, but he should defintley be there for the latter stages (assuming we havent been knocked out before the super six :nervous: )

Gilchrist, Ponting, Lee and Tait missing the plane to the Windies is your best chance.

Oh and Symonds arm falling off might help.
