Chant confusion

It seems that some of your supporters on other sites, and fans who were at the game were confused about the intent of the chant where Albion fans sing 'yam-yam-yam-yam-yam-yam-yam' etc to the tune of the dambusters while waving their arms about. This has absolutely nothing to do with the Munich Air Disaster, and originates in the rivalry between Brummies (sometimes known as yo-yos) and Black Country people (yam-yams).

In hindsight it probably wasn't the best timed but in that particular instance no offence was intended.

If any of our other idiots brought it up, i apologise.

There was a discussion on Talksport about that, and the West Brom fan apologized if it was taken the wrong way. No offence taken, mate. :)

Cheers, I'm glad your more reasonable than some of the ***** on rivals.net.

Glad thats been cleared up.

But we did think you were singing the Munich chant.

Thats why there was a load of trouble after the game. :(

Understandable. Put it down to a clash of cultures ;)

Yeah Yeah

How can you lot let these lot off?

Don't you think that the Baggies should have shown a bit more respect to do airplane shit like that? All it needed was a bit of common sense and not to have done that against United. Fair enough they might do it at every other game, but it should not be done against United in my opinion!

Would it be acceptable to do this in America in September 11th? I think not.

Although this appears to be a totally inocent song and actions by the "majority" of the Baggies fan's

It seems like a genuine mistake to me

Why would they have anything against us.

Saw the chant and dont tell me that those black country divvies did not know what they were doing.

Then they have the barefaced cheek to say we didnt know what we were doing.

Didnt you go under the Munich clock to take your seats? feckwits the lot of them.

Glad you scumbags are going straight back down.

I personally don't give a f@#k if opposition fans want to sing mindless Munich chants. It is offensive but so what, supporters of all clubs, ours included come out with shite when it suits them. "Shankly Shankly 81" and "Tottenham fan he is dead, escalator on his head" spring to mind from our fans.

Thje more we react to it the more they will do it.
It up to us as United fans to respect the memory of the Busby Babes who died at Munich, as for the other clubs fans I couldn't give a shite what they think or do.
