Champion's league

We still have to qualify for the Champion's league... Will our players be at their best at the start of the season ? Will they quickly recover both physically and mentally from the World Cup (and the disappointment) ? It won't be easy I think...I'm worried ...

Not only the French. Veron, Forlan, Keano, etc...and those who haven't played it, like Giggs, RVN or OGS.

Anyway mentally it could be a bad thing.

iN 1998 we had players who weren't there and we had players who had disappointments. Basically, it's the same thing.

if new players are added then more matchs will be better , especially early. gives the team a chance to play with one another and get to know each other better.

We'll qualify and get through the 1st group stage and then I think Fergie will work in some time off for the WC lads after Christmas through the begining of March. The PL schedule isn't that tough around then and the CL takes the winter off.

We've got - Boro A, Birmingham H, Sunderland H, West Brom A, Chelsea H, Birmingham A, Soton A, siddy H & Bolton A in that span so I think Fergie will send some of the lads off on a break somewere, at different times, like he did with Schmikes in '99.

For the opponents in CL Qualifing round I think we can afford to rest some of our players involved heavily in the WC, such as Becks, Scholes, Butt. We can still send out a fairly strong team (without considering any new player), such as:

Carroll
Neville Blanc Brown Silverstre
Fortune Veron Keano Giggs
Ruud Ole

First we'll see who we're drawn up against. Then, where is the first leg. Then, we'll use our strongest team in the first leg.

And if the result is right, we can rest some in the second. No use taking huge risks at matches than can be early make-or-break.

Depending on who we get, it could be an easy-ride. However, there are some 'smaller' teams who could cause a few headaches, but not enough to knock us out.
