I just read a story this morning that said if we don't finish in the top 2 in the Premiership, we'll have to play a qualifying round to get into the Champions League next year. If we win the Champions League this year, does anyone know whether or not that means we could by pass all the qualification rounds even if we don't finish in the top 2?

The title holders always get automatic qualification along with 15 other clubs!

2 England
2 Germany
2 France
2 Holland
1 Russia
1 Turkey
1 Greece
Which means that if the title holder is from one of the countries listed, that country looses one spot from their league and Portugal gets 1 automatic spot instead. Any one country cannot have more than two automatic qualifiers.

I'm wrong - a country can have three automatic qualifiers. Daft rule but true! 
A qualification round isn't such a bad thing.

Premier League will have 3+1 for next season's CL .. that's why you keep reading Chelsea claiming they want the last slot and they could surely overtake the Magpies ... blabla ...
