One thing that always cheeses me off, and is probably the worst thing about being a Man Utd supporter is the fact that everyone says they support United when they could'nt name a player other than David Beckham. I don't know if it is as bad in England but it is a massive problem out here in OZ. Thats why, in my opinion, United tapping into foreign markets is sometimes a bad thing.

All my mates in school were Man City suporters. We get glory hunters here to, usually from London who support us when there in the area on business

I get the piss taken out of me all the time when I travel up from London for matches. It's not by choice that I have to work and therefore live in London... There are a lot of faithful Reds who travel up almost every game.

I have always through these kinds of comments to be pointless, what do you won’t? am I any better if I get on a bus and travel from Sale to the ground or spend five hours in a car every second Saturday, who is the most committed?

Would you and the fan’s like you prefer it if the club checks how far you have travelled before they let you in the ground?

If you wonted a club that only had supporters in or around the ground you would be supporting Preston but then who the hell are they. Be proud you support a club that has worldwide support!

i don't like judging people, but that doesn't sound like a united supporter. sounds like a david beckham supporter. i mean, if you can't even name today's lineup then how can you be a fan of it? i've run into the types too, i just don't consider them united supporters so much...

Ignore them. It's not that hard is it?

I think this Aussie fan who gets cheesed off by the ignoramuses who claim to support MU but can`t name anybody but Becks is maybe focusing too much on young people in Ozland.

I`m probably some years older and I can tell him that the fans of MU I knew in Ozland were knowledgeable people because MU`s massive international support (not speaking about glory hunters here) has been around for a long, long time.

If you are talking about teenagers and those under 22, maybe. But you should realise that there are not many MU supporters in their late 20s, 30s, 40s and up who are Aussie born and bred and have quite a tradition of supporting MU and are knowledgeable.
