Quick question.

Can I jut turn up there for the u18 game v chelsea on Saturday? Really fancy this. Mr Mujac and co?

I asked a related question during my tour of OT last week and apparently it's very tough for us schmoes to get in a look at anything at Carrington, even youth matches. I'm not sure if that answers your specific question, but it sounds to me like showing up and knocking on the door wouldn't work.

I thought that it was only the parents and a select few who were at the U18 games.

I could understand why only a select few/parents can attend U18 games, because after all they are basically "kids".

How about U21 games? This thread had triggered a curiosity in my mind.

U21 are free if you have got a season ticket.

Last time I went to the U21 it was £5.

Anyone can watch U18 games at Carrington (unless a game is specifically declared as 'behind closed doors'), it's not difficult at all. You just drive/stroll in and say you're there to watch the U18s.

That would make more sense, I mean the U18s are on MUTV so why not let people watch live? But i did read in another thread people saying you can't get into the U18s.

Yeah sort of what i thought...surely if they are on MUTV you should be allowed to watch live.

Just a few of us going, and it's a bit out the way so just want to make sure we aint gonna be told to do one.

As mentioned earlier. Some of the matches is "behind closed doors", which means no fans or tv (a couple of matches a season). So check before you get to Carrington..

Isn't there gated access only across every road leading to Carrington?

There's a barrier at the main entrance that will magically rise when you tell the bloke on the intercom that you're there to watch the youth team. Or if - like me - you walk, you don't even have to do that :)

I was there and watched the Fulham-game a few weeks ago. And PS18 is right - you can go straight in if there is a match. Healthy crowd there as well...

I was standing next to Mats Daehli (who was rested because he was in the reserve squad the next day) - and Brian McClair, Warren Joyce and Nicky Barmby were also there...

Everything PS18 has said is correct.

For those who haven't been before here is a short guide.

1. Drive to barrier and press button telling speaker that you are here to watch Academy match (only if Academy are playing!)
2. Drive a few hundred yards down over speed humps and turn left in Carrington Training Centre
3. Park up in car park directly in front of you.
4. On the left of the car park is a building which has free tea/coffee (you will see people wandering in/out
5. Straight ahead of car park is playing fields and you should follow the crowd in terms of where to sit/stand
6. The 18's play on the left hand side pitch and there is a small stand.
7. Don't start wandering around, entering the main building on the right or trying to get to first team pitches.
8. Don't ask to look around the complex...you are not allowed.
9. Most people leave straight after the game

There is no direct bus route, but a bus does stop at the top of the lane and you can walk down which is about a mile or so. Sometimes you may get a regular to offer you a lift if it's wet.

Hope this helps.
