I recently watched Death Race, which naturally made me want to play the classic Carmegeddon. There was apparently plans of making a new version of Carmageddon, but it got cancelled for some reason - are there any games out there similar to Carmageddon for the PC?

I remember playing a game called Vigilante 8 (I think) which I'm pretty sure is similar. No idea if it's out on the pc though, plus it's about 80 years old or summit

Carmageddon was... fantastic.
I didn't play the original Carmageddon, but Carmageddon 2000 or something, the sequel. Was a blast 
There was another old game called Interstate 76 which was similar and also a lot of fun. I'm not sure if either would run on my PC now though with Vista ...

N64 version probably had you driving a cloud that rained magic, chasing around hopping bunnies which giggled playfully at you as you showered them with love
Brilliant game on 2 player. as well as twisted metal.
