That is a ridiculous post. Apart from Rio, they're all quiet players. Beckham has proven already that he is a great captain.

It's not ridiculous Nelly, just cos you dont agree with it. ;) Maybe I should have added a wink, but the post was supposed to be a bit sarcastic.

Ah, I rely on those winks you cnut! ;)

the keen-eyed among you will notice that, whenever an altercation occurs between Roy and a member of the opposition (e.g. Jason McAteer recently and that unforgettable "Let's amputate Beckham's legs" approach by Southampton @ the Dell a couple of seasons ago), Dave is ALWAYS second into the melee behind Keane! he seems the only other player on the field willing to get a little animated shall we say. if you couple that w/ an undeniable inability to let his chin drop down to his chest when the going gets tough (something a few others are sadly guilty of) it makes him the perfect choice IMO.

He battled for every ball, won most of them, set up all the attacks, orchestrated midfield and drove the team on, I thought it was a great Captain's performance, as does Clayton Blackmore. It was poor finishing from the front two in particular that was the problem today.

I heard that Beckham was one of the best player tonight, and I can't believe after one defeat people start to blame on Beckham as captain! May be fans are so get used to Keano's style as captain, but I think different captain has different style and Beckham is the type of captain who lead by example.
