Not sure if anyone has mentioned this so forgive me if it's already at talking point. Cannavaro has announced he will definitely leave Parma at the end of the season. I think United will definitely put in a bid for him, but whether or not he comes to OT is another issue, with respect to situations such as Thuram last summer.

No, not worth the money.

Get some English no-nonsense defenders - that's what we need. I watched Birmingham yesterday, and yet again I thought Darren Purse had an excellent game. He's got everything a centrehalf needs; strong, good in the air, reasonable composed on the ball, and a leader.

As regards Canna ... The few times I've seen him play, he hasn't seemed like a good PL prospect tbh, he'd be better off staying in Serie A which he probably will. Give me Tudor <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

Funny that cos I'm sure I read a story this weekend in which he said he'd be happy to stay at Parma, even if they got relegated.

Eurosport news stated that cannavaro stated that he will definately leave parma at the end of the season.

Juventus are said to the front runners for his signature, given the fact that Nesta will probably stay @ lazio.

He is an incredible defender, power, poise and pace, he is very experienced and is a main stay in the italian national team, would love to see him come to o/t but reckon he will stay in italy, italians are reluctant to go abroad.

But in terms of his quality he is better than nesta in my opinion, infact after stam left the telegraph reported that saf had a bids turned down for him and ayala, either of the two coming to o/t would suit me down to the ground! :)

yeah i watched that game!

I thought PURSE was also pretty solid, be a bit of a risk though <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" /> him not being tested against true quality, I mean PORTSMOUTH are shite !!

canna wants to win the title in his own country, so i doubt he will leave italy.

It will be a risk of £5m, still a smaller risk than buying a £15m+ Cannavaro or Nesta, whom hasn't got a clue about English football.

Bruce and Pallister weren't exactly picked from the top clubs in Europe..

talking of first division players ... what do you think about nottingham forest´s david prutton, aebm?

Only seen him a couple of times. Looks a decent player, who seem to be both at home in defence and middle of the park.

Cannavaro is 29, too Italian and farankly not as brainy as Blanc. We don't need " panic sessions" kie we had with Stam in the team anymore. (Even stam was better).
Cannavaro? <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

I don't think Cannavaro would be worth his hefty price tag at this stage in his career.
