i´ve decided to get one of these playstation 3 thingys, firstly i have to say i´m not that arsed about going on-line to play as i reckon i´ll be fine just playin by myself or with friends at home.

so, my question is what kind of playstation shall i get?

i want one of those slim jobbies and my options seem to be between 160gb and 320gb, will it be fine going for the cheaper option (the 160gb) or will i regret it and wish i´d got the bigger 320gb?

Do you download a lot of films and/or tv shows? If not and you're not a heavy gamer, which I doubt you are by the sounds of it, the 160Gb will be more than you'll ever need. If you do download a lot and you want to store a lot of films etc on the hard drive then get the 320Gb.

I have a 120gb one, and have no complaints. You only really require a 320gb console if you intend to utilise it as a home entertainment hub, storing a lot of movies, music, etc, on it.

If you are solely interested in gaming, you don't need a huge hard drive. A 250gb one would be more than enough.

Yeah you can put films, music, photos on the PS3 aswell as games.

I have a 60gb PS3 and I manage, 160 would be plenty for me. Depends on the price difference between it and the 320 really, if its worth the extra ammount.

If you want to use it just for gaming, then 160gb will be ample. If you want to use it for films as well, then you may end up regretting not buying the 320gb.

I bought a 160gb the other week.

However...

Thats a very, very good price. I bought my standalone 160gb for 200 pound which was the best price about by far. GT5 is what? Retail 35? So you're only paying another 25 pound for another 160gb. Ah, out of stock, you could try ringing up a local Toys R Us, or simply keep an eye on the link and see when they get more stock in.

Whatever you do, don't get the slim 320gb one. Overheats in no time and quite likely to fry up completely. You can only play 15-30 minutes max before it needs shutting down and cooling off, and plus it can increase your electricity bill up to 40%.

Edit: Actually, nevermind. Congrats.
