I have seen him in the world cup and play as a 2nd striker and/or midfielder (I.E. Scholes style)

I have never seen him play as the FIRST striker (i.e. Ruud) which is what we need.

If he cant then we will not be buying him to play behind Ruud - we have Scholes for that, he is great at it and WE are great with him there.

If Ronny CANT play as an out and out striker and we go in for him then that seals Giggs fate.

However I was thinking, and its possible he can play up front Henry style right? With his pace skill etc.

We need someone to be the "1" in our 4-5-1 when Ruud isnt available. If Ronaldinho CANT do any of this then I would rather sign Kewell/Duff who can fulfil his other roles and dont need to adapt to the country/fly off on international/dental duty.

WE DO NOT NEED ANOTHER 2ND STRIKER!! WE HAVE SCHOLES, GIGGS, FORLAN, OLE FOR THAT!

Ronaldinho can play as a link man in 4-4-1-1 or a 2nd striker in 4-4-2.

Ability wise hes everything you can ask for

  • He's pacey as feck, real pacey
  • Got more than a good shot on him
  • Can take Penalties
  • Can take free-kicks very well indeed
  • Can head the ball
  • Great passing vision
  • Lots of flair

the only two worries are

  • Has a party boy attitude, can SAF Iron that out?
  • Will be adapt to the premiership?

and those worries are both gambles...but id certainly give it a shot, he'd definatly work in europe, it's just the Premiership where itd be a gamble. Id say for 10 million itd be daylight robbery.

I agree fully. He is class (I think he's over-rated, but I can't deny his quality). Unfortunately, something about him makes me think "flop" every time I think of him playing in England.

I think Quieroz could iron out Ronaldinhio's quirkiness and make him SAF ready. I get the impression he's the one player we need in a 4-4-1-1 if we want to win the CL next year.

Ruud is the best striker in the world and OGS is extremely lethal. As linkman we end up with a world class midfielder and Diego Forlan

What we need is a link man and Ronaldinho is one of the best there is in the market

But truly a class player</strong><hr></blockquote>

Wise as usual Vinay
;)

At the moment, with his current price I prefer Kluivert though

Lopez is a great player but hes near to he 29 years of age Vijar.

A fabulous player though, classy with both Valencia and Lazio

Scholes is our link man!! If we had Veron and Scholes for both legs of the Real Madrid game we would have knocked them out, I have no doubt about that.

So either Ronaldinho can play in Ruuds position in front of Scholes (ala Bergkamp and Henry) or he can be another option down the wings instead of Duff/Kewell.

His main role should not be the linkman, we have an awesome system at the moment that has demolished sides, I cant understand why some of you want to tear that apart now.

Roni's ability is different though. One big difference is Ronaldinho can dribble past defenders, its a big weapon to have coming through the centre. When Scholes recieves the ball in the tight positions near goal, he can spin quickly without losing momentum before promptly laying off a pass or getting a shot in. Roni has the ball control to also hold it up in the same position, teasing defenders, carrying the ball.

True. Ronaldinho is a special talent indeed.

However I dont find any space for him. Perhaps as a left winger/utility man.

I am not willing to sacrifice Veron or Scholes in the team. I dont think Fergie is either? Not after what he has been through to get them playing together.

Its gonna be interesting to see what Fergie is planning.
