Apologies if this has been done to death before... but a few quick questions...

1) Is there any difference between the 120GB and 250GB models other than the hard-disk size? Is the 120GB drive big enough for me?

2) I want to get the console + an extra controller + Fifa World Cup + Red Dead Redemption... what is the cheapest way of doing this? Some sort of bundle?

3) The Playstation online mode, is that free or do you have to pay to play games online?

Thanks.

1) No difference aside from GB size. Depends what you're going to store on it, will you download videos from the PS Store? Movies? Games? 120GB is more than enough for a casual gamer I think.

2) Bundle would be best, go to your local game store and see if they can do you a deal. Some Managers will offer you a bundle different than advertised at their discretion.

3) It is free.

I knew you had to be good for something Elvis. Does the ps3 have wireless internet built in or do I need to buy something for that?

I'd do the bundle, not sure if RDR will be in many advertised bundles, so as Elvis says, best to go in and ask

As far as I can see PS3 + FIFA World Cup seem to be £250, so who knows, you may be able to get the other controller and RDR for a further £50 if you were lucky

I won't be getting an Xbox. I had one once. It died.

It does fecking everything, apart from run Linux and play PS2 games. Mine does both of those things though!

I suggest we fight. We are both allowed a weapon (namely our consoles) My heavier, Much larger 360 will knock you out first round... punk.
Your 360 will fall apart mid swing, leaving you to take the full brunt of my not so Slim PS3 to the back of the head, fruity ass.

I would like to play Alan Wake, Mass Effect, and Fable. They are the 360 exclusives that interest me the most. Not enough to actually buy the console, but still.

This is the thing that convinced me to get a PS3. I have a gaming PC, too, and that list right there of 360 exclusives is misleading. Those games will come out on the PC, or already have done. Fable and Mass Effect are out on the PC. Mass Effect took six months to port, but the sequel was released simultaneously. Sometimes it can take a little while, but any decent 360 exclusive will come out on the PC eventually, where I will play it.

The PS3, however, is different. PS3 exclusives will not come out on the PC. If I want to play one, I have to have a PS3.

Perhaps this is also Mike's thinking.

you can play Mass Effect and Fable 1 and 3 (coming soon) on your PC.

as for Alan Wake - its simply shite

I'm not really a fan of PC gaming. My desktop is redundant, and while my laptop is good, I can't really imagine gaming on it.

I never had Mike down as a gamer to be honest. I thought he preferred more traditional past times, such as games of Chess, draughts, and playing the flute.

I've never really been a gamer Elvis, I mainly want it for the multiplayer when mates are over. And the fact I continuously thrash Mockney at Fifa convinced me it's a good idea.

Aren't you glad they're answering your questions about PS3 vs. Xbox before you even asked them, Mike?

Gimps.

When it gets RROD you simply ring up the Cnuts at Microsoft and take advantage of the extended 3 year warranty, and wolla fixed for free.

Buy an unreliable piece of crap because they will send you another unreliable piece of crap when it inevitably breaks? I can't believe that Microsoft have managed to make people think that this is acceptable.

It really does. I didn't make the linux choice but I still play PS2 games.

Xbox 360 controllers have vibrate ;)

I don't think the PS3 ones do... certainly the original ones didn't

I love my non-vibrating six-axis controllers.
