Burndogg's Artist Of the Week: Incubus

Huge fan of their early stuff however its a damn shame what they have become. Nowadays their pretty much a pop band.

I will be posting my top ten Incubus tracks in this thread tommorow but I can't be bothered now. You are right however top band when on form.
 
The last album was the only one i kind of had a problem with. Apart from that i cant get enough, cant find many bands like them.
 
Only ever heard a few songs, not even sure what they were. Vitamin's a good song so far.
 
Assuming you mean Light Grenades which was a patchy affair you are half right. Part of the problem with them nowadays is that they don't seem to consider DJ kilmore as an important part of the band, whereas he is part of what makes them quite unique.

They seriously need to return to the Nu-metal esque sound that they started out with, rather than trying to appeal to the masses. Anna Molly is really the only track off Light Grenades that even stands upto comparison with some of their greatest stuff.

For me Morning View is still one of my favourite albums ever made, a personal opinion yes but it really is a work of art. Sadly they seem to have diverged from that sound.
 
Not really listened to much of that genre for a good few years but used to love Incubus, Make Yourself was a fantastic album. A few picks:
