Brum agree fee for Kenny Miller

Kenny Miller

fecks sake, his weird orange face will annoy me all year now.

Dear Every Premier League Manager,

Please kindly refrain from infesting the English League with horribly bad Scottish players who will inevitably leave after a year, having proven their lack of worth.

Regards,

Alastair

Striker Kenny Miller is mulling over a move to Birmingham City after Rangers accepted an offer in the region of £700,000 from the English club.
The 31-year-old Scotland player has netted 22 club goals so far this term.
But he has stalled on a contract extension beyond June and he is free to speak with other clubs.
Rangers failed with a bid for Dundee United's David Goodwillie but, even if Miller moves, they are unlikely to be able to meet United's £1.5m valuation.
The fee from the Midlands club would also increase should they avoid relegation from the English Premier League this season.
Rangers manager Walter Smith had stated that his wish in the first instance was that Miller signed a new deal with the Glasgow side.
Failing that, he hoped to keep Scottish football's leading goal-scorer until at least the end of the current league campaign.
However, on Thursday Smith bemoaned the fact that the current financial situation at his club means that he will not be able to make any moves to strengthen his small squad without first selling a player.
On Friday it emerged that Rangers had an offer rejected by Dundee United for the Tannadice striker Goodwillie.
It is believed that the verbal offer that they submitted for the Scotland cap was approximately half of his club's estimation.
Miller arrived for his second spell at Rangers in June 2008, having first signed on at Ibrox in 2000 from Hibernian.
In the intervening seasons he had a one-year spell at Old Firm rivals Celtic, as well as stints in England with Wolves and Derby County.
The forward has already played under Birmingham boss Alex McLeish, who was Scotland manager in 2007.
So far, Miller has amassed 51 international caps, scoring 12 goals.

journeyman, he can't seem to settle down at one club, just like robbie keane.

Failed twice in the premierleague before, although one of those times was at a woeful derby side. Never really performed that great for Scotland either, cant fault him for work rate though. Will always give 100%

I'm not sure what's more shocking, the shape of Kenny Killers head or his ability with a.football. Should stay in the SPL with the rest of the rubbish.

Have you seen his record this season?
I've seen his record his entire career, plus when it comes to the EPL. He'd be best used by them as wide man to improve their overall goal threat. But he is not the hitman they desperately need. They need a better net buster to help them out wth goals down the middle than him. Especially in a loan forward role. For Miller's SPL goal getting is yet to translate to the EPL and its not liek they ar ethe msot creative bunch.

He is not a consistent goal scorer anymore. Pointless signing for them IMO.

Actually this is the only season in his entire career he's consistently hit the net.

Played: 17
Goals: 21

Some record in fact, we'll miss him.

I don't think he'll be all that successful though. If you're the lone striker in England you either need to be built like a brick shithouse or have superb technique. Miller has neither and I don't think his best attributes - his work-rate and pace - will be enough for him to score that many goals. £700,000 though means it's a gamble Birmingham can easily afford to take.

He's better than Zigic who cost £6M (strange call from McLeish who's usually very sensible and frugal).

Apparently he's turned down a move to Birmingham.

Kenny Miller rejects move from Rangers to Birmingham City | Football | guardian.co.uk

Kenny Miller has rejected an opportunity to join Birmingham City after Rangers accepted a £650,000 offer for their Scotland international striker. Miller, whose contract at Ibrox expires in the summer, had been targeted by Alex McLeish as Birmingham seek to boost their attacking options.

However, a source close to the player has revealed that Miller is keen to continue his career abroad and is set to sign a pre-contract agreement with a "top foreign club" this month. He has no plans to leave Ibrox before the end of his deal.

Marseille have been heavily linked with the 31-year-old as have Bursaspor, although a move to Turkey is regarded as unlikely.

Rangers had a contingency plan should Miller, a former Wolves player, have accepted a return to the Midlands. The Scottish Premier League champions made a verbal offer of £650,000 for the Dundee United forward David Goodwillie but that was rejected in any case, with the Tannadice club seeking £1m up front for their main asset.

AC Milan must be gutted

Who are they going to get to replace Inzaghi now

Strange signing, that would have been. I wonder what happened with the whole Robbie Keane thing, he looked like a decent signing for them.

Rangers might not have much cash to play with these days, but I cannot understand why they'd ever consider letting him go now. He could be the difference between winning the title or not. Make him see out his contract at least

They already had Cameron Jerome to run around aimlessly and to little effect up front. Miller would only have been be a slight upgrade.

Bank's decision though. In truth a short-sighted one which would reduce our currently strong chances of winning the league outright, hampering our ability to bring in revenue next season.

The latest rumour is that he's off to Fiorentina. Only the News of the World, but Miller's stock in Italy is quite high after he gave Nesta and Cannavaro a doing back in 2005.

KENNY MILLER is on the brink of a sensational move to Italy after he agreed terms with Serie A giants Fiorentina.

Sport of the World can reveal the 22-goal Rangers striker is set to move to the Tuscan giants before the transfer window closes.

Sources close to Fiorentina last night claimed Miller has now thrashed out a pre-contract deal which will DOUBLE the £20,000 a week he currently earns at Rangers.

Having a club the size of Fiorentina wanting to sign you is very flattering and testament to how good Kenny has been this season.

However, the Italians are keen to push the deal through as soon as possible after Gers made it clear they were prepared to sell their star striker to Birmingham.

Now Rangers will push the Italians to try and raise as much cash as they can to finance a deal to sign David Goodwillie from Dundee United.

Fiorentina manager SinisaMihajlovic swooped after his chief scout, former Rangers captain Lorenzo Amoruso, singled out Miller as the perfect foil for Italian striker Alberto Gilardino.

Kenny Miller scores against Kilmarnock Red-hot... Miller's goals attracted Italians

Miller's agent David Baldwin said last night: "Having a club the size of Fiorentina wanting to sign you is very flattering and testament to how good Kenny has been this season.

"Rangers have their hands tied with their current financial situation and we had been talking to several clubs about a pre-contract for next season.

"Knowing that Rangers had accepted Birmingham's bid and were willing to sell Kenny now has probably changed Kenny's thought process with regards to when he leaves."

I'm hearing that he's chosen to sign for Bursaspor... over Birmingham & Fiorentina!?

Where are the Turkish getting there money from, they must have offered him a lot!!

He will probably do reasonably well in Turkey seeing as his record this season has been excellent, but why would you reject a move to Italy or England when they come knocking at your door and go to Bursaspor?
