Anyone heard of this "band" (theres loads of them)

For me, they have to be my favourite band of the moment, their portfolio is just so diverse.

of the three albums

You forgot it in people
Bee Hives
Broken Social Scene

there are some cracking tracks.

Bee hives is quite a low key album, but the musical intricacies are fantastic, it sounds a little like kids will be skeletons from Happy songs for happy people, but with alot more intricacy.

Anyway, massively advise people to check them out if they havent done so already.

Yeah they're from Toronto, we've been aware of them for quite a few years now. A very interesting project, just from the sheer number of performers associated with the name.

I always thought I'd really like them, as I love many of the other bands that BSS collaborators/members are in (Stars, Metric, Feist etc.) - but I was disappointed. I've tried You Forget It In People, Beehives and one other album and only really found 4 or 5 songs across the 3 albums that I enjoyed... That said I do love Anthem For a Seventeen Year Old Girl.

But I far prefer Metric and Stars:

Metric - Hustle Rose (live)

Stars - Your Ex Lover Is Dead

edit: but seriously, what is with the crazy number of good bands coming out of Canada in the last 10 years?

hmm, i suggest you give bee hives another listen, at a time when you can whack on some headphones and get completely involved it
