(GB Team just lost again, this time 3-0 to Ukraine in the Davis Cup).

We all know it, it's glaringly obvious. People talk about Andy Murray but bar him there's nothing. It was the same when Henman was no. 1, probably a bit better even.

Here's the world rankings for the top 5 British men.

Andy Murray - 4th
Josh Goodall - 192nd
Alex Bogdanovic - 198th
James Ward - 293rd
Richard Bloomfield - 310th

No wonder Rusedski thought he could walk back into the team.

How can our system be so bad when nations such as Serbia are producing the likes of Jankovic, Ivanovic, Djokovic and Tipsarevic.

Murray is good, didnt think he would come good, but he has so credit to him. As for your other players, never heard of them

I`m ranked a bit behind Bloomfield - and I don`t even play the fecking game.

its got nothing to do with infrastructure and coaching etc.

There's no talent. No matter how hard you train a donkey to become a horse it would still remain a donkey.

Football - bottlers
Cricket - Shite
Tennis - Shite
Hockey - Shite
Golf - Shite
Swimming - Shite
Cycling - Shite
Running - Shite

That's rubbish.

You're not seeing talent because these kids have chosen other sports.

Edit - And you're last bit is even worse. British Cycling is shite? Did you watch the Olympics?

lets just say i got carried away as i was making it up after hockey

Tennis isn't such a big sport in Britain. To have one of the best players in the world is amazing in itself for Britain considering other sports are far more prominently played by kids.

Us Aussies are struggling big time as well. A decade ago we had Rafter, Phillipoussis, the Woodies, Hewett starting to break through, and a fair few others that could do fair enough when needed.

Now we've got nothing. Hewett is nothing compared to what he used to be, Molik had to retire just as it looked we were finally going to have a competitive woman, and there's nothing else around. Dokic is our best hope now.

Tennis is still an elitist sport in a lot of countries so a talented kid from a poor background doesn't have much of a chance. I play a lot of tennis and the cost of lessons is huge here in Canada. Even at my small club it's $52. an hour so unless kids have lots of money or can get sponsored they can't afford lessons. The kids where I play who get lots of lessons are kids of doctors, lawyers etc. Not sure about England now but I do remember playing it at school a couple of times when I grew up in England but I wonder if it is taught in school anymore. People like the Williams sisters who come from a poor background and make it purely on talent and the sacrifice of their parents are rare. Until tennis is open to all kids no matter how rich they are it will be hard to develop players.

Very good point with the money mate

But all the top tennis players aren't rich kids, far from it. Lot's had nothing and put it all into making it as a star. Different mentality and culture perhaps.

Although I agree that is probably one of the problems. Especially as the alternative is very cheap - it costs very little to buy a ball and kick it in the street, then join a local football team.
