Anyone else listen to him? I think he's brilliant. I'm Wide Awake It's Morning gets a lot of plays on my ipod.

Great songwriter is Oberst. His last few releases have been a bit disappointing however. A bit in love with himself these days. His earlier stuff is brilliant though. "Letting off", "Fevers" and "Lifted" are all fantastic albums. A bit childish. But endearingly so.

I think he has flashes of brilliance, as the lads said above, but I find him quite hit and miss.

Jaysus, that'd be a long list mate.... in the car at the moment I have the Felice Brothers, Mick Flannery, The Black Keys, Fleet Foxes, a bit of Isobel Campbell and some Dawn Landes.. all well worth checking out....

I think his song "four winds" is pretty good. He is a bit hit and miss, one of these hyperproductive types with a billion songs. Like Ryan Adams etc, always going to be some gems in there but also a lot of guff too to be honest.
