Wonder who takes over as the Academy director now ? And do we see some change in Policy ?

Sad. Wonder if he chose to leave or not.

Will we see promotions from within after this news? McGuinness to directer and Butty to coach perhaps or will LVG be looking to bring his own guy in, probably someone from Holland.

I will always remember him as the one who screwed up Mfomo's deal.

Joking aside, really interest to see who will takeover this important position.

Rene to come back?

He's on a mission to fix Scottish football.

Hopefully we'll get someone outside United. Some new ideas, fresh perspectives. The Spanish teams are all doing something right. Nick one of theirs.

I suspect that Stuivenberg could have a new job.

Agreed; they're on to something. Could poach from the Dutch (read: Ajax) too.

But who's going to do the stand-up comedy at the end of season awards now? :(

Is that so? A fella who's usually pretty clued-up told me that McGuinness had a frustrating summer due to someone at the club dropping the ball on Mfomo as well as a few other potential youth signings, but he wouldn't identify the culprit. Was it really Choccy? He's always struck me as a rock-solid guy.

For Mfomo's deal it's Choccy although I don't know the details. He's generally in charge of dealing with youth signings anyway from what I understand.

Probably a blessing in disguise as I'm satisfied with the U18s squad this season.

Not often the SFA get something right but Brian McClair is a great appointment.
Thank you for all United years and all the best for the future!!!!

Yep someone outside of the club is probably the best idea. Will be very interesting to see who gets the job and how long it will take to announce McClair's replacement.
Van Gaal will be a big help too for the search.

His successor will be very interesting.

It's a job that, more than any other, is about laying foundations for the future of the club. If we let Van Gaal choose someone or are swayed by his opinion then it shows that senior members in the club have a lot of faith in him considering he's only going to be here for 3 years (apparantly).

Sorry to disappoint you but that's not going to happen. The club will hire a new director from within.
