According to some rumours in Belgium, they are set to go out on loan to Royal Antwerp FC for the remainder of the season. That is, if RAFC succeed in lifting their transfer ban by the end of this week.

I know Brandy is a striker and Drinkwater is a midfielder, but can you tell me what kind of players they are? Especially a striker and a midfielder who can actually score a goal would be welcome at De Bosuil.

Brandy is a speedy striker and Drinkwater is a good midfielder who is a very capable passer and dribbler.

Brandy is a tiny striker who can also play on the wing. He's quick and can dribble, but his size counts against him. He's really that small. Put into his element, however, and he's a tricky player.

Drinkwater's a central midfielder capable of playing multiple roles. He's dynamic and has a nice shot on him, but most importantly, for a midfielder, can pass the ball well. Playing time is vital for him.

I didn't know we still had an agreement with Royal Antwerp, mind you.

It's still there yes, although it hasn't been used in the last year. The last players to come over were Craig Cathcart and Michael Lea, and they returned to Manchester in January 2008.

Despite being diminutive I'd say that Brandy is very strong in comparison to his size. He is a little like Wright-Phillips in the sense that he can ride a tackle and isn't scared to get involved and put a foot in.

I'm guessing the Belgian second divison is less physical than the Championship so it could be a useful experience for Brandy. I'd rather see Danny do a Cleverley and play for a League One club for the remainder of the season but competitive senior footie will be be good for him either way. Hope this deal goes through.

Both of these lads would clean up over there. Brandy is a tough little cookie and his experience at Swansea has helped him alot even though he didnt play as much as I would have liked. Drinkwater is a player I rate. I think hes better than say Sam Hewson and just needs games to ensure he continues to develop. In summary they would be fantastic additions to Royal Antwerp.

Didn't they move on loan because time was of the essence and it's easier to process a loan deal and then make it permanent later than it is to get the full paperwork through for a transfer?

The loan window for lower-league clubs to sign players on loan is open until sometime in March I think. Danny Simpson went to Ipswich in Feb/March last year if memory serves.

Anyway, Brandy's joined Hewson at Hereford - link

I think the Hereford loan deal could be good for Brandy. He looked sharp in the last few reserve games and it should be a great place to gain first team experience and prove a point to Sir Alex and himself!

if brandy can start sticking the ball in the net then the Hereford fans will love him, good move for him.
