BOWYER MOVE GETS GREEN LIGHT
by Leeds United Official Reporter

UNITED midfielder Lee Bowyer has been given permission to speak to Liverpool over a proposed move to Anfield after the two clubs reached agreement on a fee on Friday.
Talks have being ongoing this week, but after reaching a compromise price in the region of £9million, Bowyer will now travel to Anfield later today to complete negotiations and undergo a medical.

Leeds Chairman Peter Ridsdale said today: "We've given Lee permission to talk to Liverpool,”

"Terry Venables did have a chat with Lee, but his agent called last night to say nothing has changed.

"Liverpool have made an offer that’s acceptable to us and the rest is now in Lee’s hands. How quickly the deal goes through is now up to him and Liverpool to agree personal terms and go through the medical."

"He only had a year to go on his contract and something had to be done," Ridsdale told the YEP.

"Obviously we don’t want to lose Lee, but he’s made his decision not to sign a new contract."

Good luck Lee - sad to see you go

I don't know about outdoing ourselves last season but we certainly outdid you!!! ;)

Hmmm, interesting.

Not really uptodate with the transfer speculation but hasn't houllier signed 3 defensive midfielders already this week. He had hamann and biscan from before so I can't see how Bowyer can fit into his plans. A bit to offensive minded for that team. Think their prefered line-up will be french defensive centre midfielder - gerrard - hamann- french defensive cm. Perhaps he wants to play heskey and bowyer together upfront to get some more strength to that department.

that was either :

a) intended to be funny and fell very short or

b) intended to be serious and came across as moronic.

have you ever watched a football match, ahmed? sure you're not confusing it with laundry or something?

Well, GH does play his players out of position quite often doesn't he? DM is at his best as CM and he is constantly played on the wing. And you have been signing quite a few defensive central midfielders lately...how many do you have now, 5 or 6? + the youth players coming up. Only unrealtistic point in that post was that Owen shouldn't be prefered.

GH isn't dumb, he knows that you can only ´go so far with the average crop of players you have. Therefore he relies on the system, a defensive one to win games. Your defensive line and the midfield will probably be like the Berlin wall next year. Fecking dull to look at but effective in it's own insane way.

What you are doing is not football anymore, it's not a sport. A fecking military parade where strategy and not player skills are of importance.

We have just got ourselves a new captain - I am looking forward to seeing who will replace Bowyer and Dacourt when he goes next.

Brett Emerton is a whisper I hear around ER.

Dirty Greedy Bowyer

He needs to find £850,000 fast to pay LUFC back....shame it was an interest free loan we gave him.
