United should be all over this player. To me he would be the long term replacement for matic

He's been on the bench for 11 out of 19 games for Lille this season!

I vaguely remember that he got benched as soon as he rejected a move to Newcastle last year, presumably the situation hasn't changed with his contract running out in 18 months.

The story according to French media was that the former owner (Gerard Lopez) felt that the players agent was attempting to run down the players contract and leave on a free. An offer of £40m was first accepted from Wolves and then Newcastle according to reports which the player rejected. So as a result Lille kept him out of the team and used him as a backup option.

Should we go for him then do you think

If the club are willing to be patient with his development then he would be a good signing in the summer for a reduced fee due to his contract having a year to run. He's good at advancing play from deep especially via his surging runs and has the potential to develop his passing game to a good level. He's also good at evading the press due to his ability to dribble out of confined spaces.

For a potential reduced fee due to the factors mentioned above, he could prove to be a very shrewd piece of business in the current climate.

How much do you think it would take to sign him as saw something about AC Milan offering them £21m and were told to up that considerably

Lille and other french clubs need cash badly. If we've some players well scouted ready to make the next step, that's the perfect timing.

I've never seen him play, but if he's on the bench 11 times out of 19 for Lille I'd be questioning if he's good enough for us.
