Two 1-0 wins at home in a row?

Criminal...

No doubt many of you will be annoyed at this, as the quality/entertainment of the football comes before the results for you...

We won 5-0 at home this time last week, what more do you want.

Tho I'm sure you'll shortly return to the attack minded, cavelier, attack attack attack, forward thrusting team that you all love...

and may even play with 2 up front in the odd home match..

The great entertainers...

Oh don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be moaning if my lot had won there first 2 home games..

But you Mancs are different...you're only interested in attacking football...and would prefer to lose 10-2 then draw 0-0, the flamboyant superstars that you are..

I don't think easy wins in CL qualifiers against farmers count either? At least, they didn't this time last year...

I agree with DAVO assessment but unfortunately for US teams dont come to Old Trafford to play like NewCastle did to his lot on Monday. If Boro had come to play like NewCastle did then the score would have reflected that. Surely someone with DAVO astute football knowledge knows that. Anyway we will only get better so I'll take 8 points from 4 games early in the season. Were level with our two main challengers and we havent played well yet.

At least we dont stick 10 men behind the ball and hoof it to the 11th Davo! <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

We're playing some decent football, but it's not quite clicking yet, especially in the finishing department. It's rythm that we are lacking, that's all, and it will come sooner rather than later. :p

Go easy on Davo, he hasn't been able to post in two days.

I don't think excuses are allowed..

Its common knowledge that the lesser teams often pack their defences when playing the top teams....and the likes of us often struggle to break them down..

But not you, not with your flair and attacking options...

And 1 striker

Yes thats true..

But then no one's arguing about our football...you've told me many times how boring we are - and how you'd never resort to such..your fans wouldn;t allow it..

I'm sure you'll soon find your rhythm once more...and be the envy of the Brazilian samba masters once again

DAVO i said I agree with you assessment. We have only played well one half against chelsea and one half against Sunderland. But were grinding out wins so hopefully we will get the tactics right and unleash our obvious scoring potential.

of course :D

Do you think Liverpool will remember how to defend leads like they used to?

No I haven't. Never!

Others have though. ;)

That's pure bullshit mate. The difference is the higher standards we expect. Its alright for the dippers to win 1-0, its alright for us too, just that we expect something more - to win with panache. But I'll take a 1-0 win, even though its not enough.

Haven't you seen the posts about boring football... too much keep-ball... not enough quick movement... no dipper talks like that.

We need wins! Draws sucks, as little as possible! Loosing a game? No way maan! This is our true religion... :p

You're not allowed to agree with him, that would take all the fun out of baiting us ;)

For what its worth I dont like playing with one striker either. SAF does this to accomodate Veron (cos he knows he cant defend). But Ole warming the bench - at home - against mid to lower table opposition - is a crime.

I dont expect 'him' to understand, but YES a 10-2 defeat IS better than a 0-0

It's NOT just about winning, it's about winning in style, its what this club has and always will be about.

<img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

But at least we TRY to play football the way it should be. <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

he's just upset coz his mothers out rooting through bins again trying to find scraps for him and his 12 brothers. never mind davo, yer da 'll be getting out soon. ;)

If we win 5-3 then you will critisize our defence i am sure.. F**K OFF.. :p

Your THREE fecking strikers are doing pretty well I see, the future is indeed looking up for Owen, I noticed how his practice rugby goal kicking is coming on, Wigan must have put in a bid.

Once again Davo misses the point by a country mile... Sure any of us will accept the odd 1-0 ground out without panache or style... But most of us wouldn't feel content with a Championship won on such a basis. You by contrast will accept a victory however it comes. If you saw the recent documentary on the Beeb you should get the point... Utd's glorious history is founded on the memory of the geniuses who have worn the shirt... Which footballing Gods would be highlighted in a trawl thru' Pool's history??

Two 1-0 home wins = 6 points
A two goal lead with 20 odd minutes to go draw 2-2 and 3-0 v the MIGHTY southampton= 5 points
i know which i would rather have

To be fair you lot have been playing more attacking football this season. BUT, lets see your GA column now. Not very impressive is it?

Always knew that your defence and goalie "looked" good only because the rest of your team were basically playing as defenders as well... including Heskey.

Well done.

Not really so confused....Davo what's going on in your life.

Your windups aren't even making sense anymore. Your posts used to be my favorite form of forum standup comedian/comic strip entertainment.

You're losing it man.

Now your just being stupid, some of the greatest players in british football have donned the red shirt of Liverpool, hence 30 years of unparalleled success. Even the most biased manc can't dispute that, surely??

30 years??

You were very successful during the dark periods of the 70s & 80s... haven't they taught you how to count to 30 in dipperland?

Your quite right, the 70's and 80's was when we really took the piss, but after winning the second division in 1962 we went on to win 2 league championships an F.A cup and reach the cup winners cup Final. All before 1970.

Not quite up to later standards but still better than anybody else.

I'd prefer the 6 points as well..

You must be in the minority of Manc fans tho, as most would prefer to have played in the attacking manner that we did in those 2 games, despite dropping 2 points...

3-0 vs the mighty Southampton? 1-0 vs the mightier Baggies?

Its all out attack with you and no mistake...
