#mufcu21 Subs v Bolton Wanderers: O'Hara, C. Evans, Tuanzebe, Willock, Rashford #MSC

Tuanzebe and Rashford on the bench is good news. Love it when the talented 18s get moved up early. Hope they get their debuts tonight.

He is not back, it's probably a youth loan where he can play for both the clubs.
Yeah I meant just back for this match. Its not a good sign anyway as he isn't getting played enough for Blackpool and is having to come back to play for us. Blackpool are a fecking mess so I'm a bit disappointed he is there in the first place.

It's been disappointing at the moment. Our defenders have been quite uncomfortable on the ball, and we've frequently resorted to launching long balls forward. Much of our play is going through the wingers, but they haven't done that well so far.

Getting better now. We just need to improve our final ball.

Weir's been decent in linking up play and making himself available as well as Fletcher, but neither have really been getting themselves into good goalscoring positions, recently. Rothwell has been quite conservative in his performance as well. Sadiq's been poor on the right side whilst Kellet's been heavily involved. James doesn't look suited to the left back role, for me.

Good finish from Woollery. Poor defending from our U-21's.

We look quite toothless going forward. Too many grafters in the attacking positions and few creative players. Rothwell looks like he's not sharp.

It looks like we really miss Andreas' playmaking in this game. Rothwell and Goss haven't really distributed the ball around, and we've created few chances going forward given that our most creative player is probably Rothwell.

The commentators are talking quite a bit about how we're missing goalscorers, but they aren't focusing any talk on how we don't have players who can carve open Bolton's defence.

What happened to the ball at that corner? Did Goss really hit it that weakly?

Fletcher is really struggling at this level so far.

Fletcher is really struggling at this level so far.

I thought he handled himself fine, physically. His main issue is his positioning and movement as a forward. It didn't help that he had no one who could provide him decent service. The wingers have been poor in the final third, and the midfielders haven't been able to take control of the match.

Goss and Rothwell have looked quite rusty in midfield. Both have struggled to get a foothold of the match, and both have struggled to dictate the game.

Disappointing loss. We never really looked like winning this. Bolton did a good job containing us and stretching us with their wingers. We should have done better going forward, but with a lack of attack-minded players in the team, I guess this is fine.

The wingers had been what they really are.Not wingers.

Of course. That's been the big issue for us. We don't have enough attacking players to play for the U-21's. We could try to accommodate some of the U-18's, but I doubt someone like Riley or Gribbin would be ready as of yet.

Did we sub Rashford/Tuanzebe on?

Rashford didn't come on, but Tuanzebe did, and he improved our passing going forward whilst not really contributing to creating chances, which is expected as he's more of a defensive player in the U-18's.

Mitchell would have been ready to play for now if not for that injury.I doubt Riley will play since Joyce is very strict about his pecking order and willing to play players out of position just because they're ahead in his "pecking order".No doubt Riley would have improved our attacking with our crossing had been very poor tonight.

Have we got a new Fletcher that is also struggling at a level? Well I never..
