Bob Dylan- Hurricane

Have to agree, compared with say The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll it's poor stuff. "We wanna pin this triple murder on him, he ain't no Gentlemen Jim"

I'm a big Bob Dylan fan, but I don't particularly like this song. Doesn't seem very Dylan-ish.

Agreed. Songs like lhattie carrolll and lonly a pawn in their gamel are a lot better in my opinion. Don't seem forced like hurricane.

You seen I'm Not There? I thought it was great.

I haven't yet, but definatley want to.

As far whether Hurricane is a great song...would have to say the live versions I've heard from the Rolling Thunder tour are awesome, and take the song up a few levels. Now that was some band.

Yeah, I loved it. I don't think they could have done a film about Dylan any better way.
Must admit I had my doubts going in (specially since the Pennebaker doc Don't Look Back is one of my favourites) but it was a triumph, Cate Blanchett must have watched Don't Look Back a fair bit though.

Has to be one of the greatest songs of all time. Discuss.

I agree. I think it was the first Dylan song I heard and i fell in love with it straight away. The opening line just draws you in - "Pistol shots rang out in the bar room night" and the Dylan's sublime on the harmonica all through the song.

Now i don't know whether Ruben Carter did 'the deed' or not. All i know is that the song is great, it gives you goosebumps when you think of any innocent man forced to do time.

Dylan is a poet. Dylan is the best ever.
