Why on earth is it so expensive? One movie for £3! Or three movies for £7 but hey, you can keep it for a week! Why would I want to keep movies for a week? Why can I not rent out a movie tonight and bring it back tomorrow and pay accordingly? What a bullshit system. And then they are wondering why people download movies..

yea franco, i was gonna do one of these things.. only thing is you cant be spontanious but i guess there are no alternatives. and bigger movie choice as well, for £5 per month, sounds good.!

I've been a member of lovefilm for a while now, it really is worth it. Great for tv shows too

I take your point about being spontaneous though

Download movies then, its cool and you can keep them for ever :smirk:

Blockbuster works out to be very cheap for me. Have an account which I share with my flatmates. $20 a month for the three movie deal. I can potentially watch up to 20 movies a month and it only costs me one third of $20.

I fecking hate blockbusters. It killed off all those little video shops that were scattered around when i was a kid.

It's more expensive to go to the movies, but yes prices do seem to be a little out of wack

Haven't rented a video in ages.

Internet + Divx player > Blockbuster

And a usenet account, costing $15-20 a month, will allow you to download movies in a few minutes.

So yeah, feck Blockbuster.

Think how much money Wayne Huizienga has made after this

its €5.75 in our local xtravision store for a new release for one night

its a bad circle, stores put their prices up to survice in this internet age, meanwhile joe bloggs decides that its too expensive and much easier to download whatever he wants

Hmm it costs 70 pence to rent a movie here in Sweden if you don't go to a gas station.

Used to be a great video store near where I used to live in Huddersfield, you'd pay just a pound a night for any film, new or old, it was brilliant and he always had the new releases, may have to wait a couple of days for a big big film, but who cares. People would travel from miles away just to go there.

Had to join Blockbuster when I moved, but tossed them off now and just download or actually go OUT and watch it :smirk:

Thats the thing, i`d be happy to pay £1 for a movie, i`d probably rent 5 per weekend. Now I dont rent out any. The store is getting smaller and smaller every month. I cant believe those responsible morons dont realize that they have to change their price policy of they wanna survive, I mean it cant be better for them to make no money at all and eventually close down then to decrease the prices and get more money out. Or is it not that simple? I dont get it. When I lived in Germany the dvd rental was something between 0.50 - 2 euro. The stores would have probably thousands of movies and the store would be full day and night. If the prices are low people cant be bothered to waste time and download. Also on dvd`s you get all the bonus features etc.

It`s just shit. The trouble is also you cant download every movie, especialy some older, rare ones, of some good foreign films.
