New album from them, am downloading it at the mo.

Anybody listened to it? What do you think?

It is very average. I thought it might be a grower but after listening to it several times my opinion has not changed.

My first listen now. Sounds ok, a lot like the single. More dancey, and I don't know if that is my sort of thing.

Having listened to it a couple of times it's growing on me

Ares, Signs, Trojan Horse, Zephyrus and Biko are good.

One Month Off is a tune as well as some of the ones mentioned above. Of course its not going to be as good as the first couple of albums and they're trying to depart somewhat from their previous style which isn't the best idea. Mercury itself is horse shit but I really like the rest of the album.

I'm really liking this album now. Some great songs. Trojan Horse is one of my faves, and Talons is also good. Gotta admire Bloc Party for going in a new direction, quite brave and it works well.

Paddy, I know, it's disgusting, theres no way in hell I would've PM'd you a link like 2 minutes ago.

Thank god you didn't.

Thanks to both you and esmufc for resisting the temptation to do anything I wouldn't approve of.

Silent Alarm was very good, and they were fantastic live.

Haven't listened to them since I first heard Weekend in the City. They went quite shit quite quickly.

I just hope it's better than that shitehouse second album. I really thought they were doing something different with the first record. It sounds to me like they made a total cock-up of Weekend in the City and have made a knee-jerk follow-up papering over the cracks with samples and blips. I've only heard Mercury, mind.

Still got a shit-hot drummer though
