Blanc or O'Shea

i'd like to see big John given a sustained run. all this recent talk about 'hunger' and 'commitment' seems best exemplified by him. Plus I think JF Hasselbaink's pace may cause trouble against Larry.

Hasselbaink's pace didn't have much effect last season at Stamford Bridge.

My top two are still Rio and Blanc, with O'Shea as third choice for the next couple of months obviously. He should still see plenty of matches.

Why couple of months?

No but it did at OT (and all the other times he has scored against us)

I want to see JOS given a good run of games and then rest him for a while and bring him back in. Dont want to see him getting a long injury or being overplayed but I would like to see him being 1st choice with Rio. :D

Aye, at the same where our defence was total shambles and in the match we actually moved Keane to centerhalf (only for it to fair miserably).

As for Ichk's question: Make that three months, during the time Wes is out. After that who knows.

could you not just post all this in the one topic?

theyre having the same discussion

O'Shea all the way. Blanc is past it.

The sooner he pushes Blanc into a coaching role, the better.

After another solid performance (MOM this time), are there still folks around who would pick Blanc ahead of O'Shea? Seriously the young lad has way exceeded my expectations, I didn't even think he would be ready for regular first-team action for one or two seasons.

Excellent!

I have to say I'm delighted with him making giant strides. Starting to feel very confident about him and Rio! Shame we still have to live with PN.

I propose to wait for Rio and see how these people play with him.

O'Shea is still young and if Rio is fast enough to do the runnings, and Laurent strong ennough to contain the strikers, then it will be a completely different issue.

Only time will tell... Remember, speed is not the only factor that makes a good defender...

O'Shea and Rio! Did you guys see O'Shea last night? He was as strong as Jimmy, not many players beeing that? Big, bad Johnny!! Can't wait to see him and Rio form our new CB pair! They should surely be the new "Dolly & Daisy's" :D
