Has anyone on the forum actually read the recent biography of Sir Alex Ferguson? From the few reviews I have read it is not flattering.

Irrespective of that, for me it is Fergie, Fergie Til I Die. Not only is the great man the ONE who made Manchester United finally into the powerhouse that its tradition suggested but never achieved - I believe him to be a decent bloke as well.

Just reading his autobiography, the tremendous drive of the man is apparent as well as his decency. Sir Alex has never forgotten he came from an underprivileged area near the Scottish Clyde shipyards - just read his thoughts on his background and his opinions on topics such as the Thatcher Government`s `vandalism` of public services, and you know the man has not been fundamentally changed by his success and wealth.

Can anybody fill me in on any details of the biography even if it is probably highly critical in some ways.

But for me Sir Alex Ferguson is and will always be THE MANAGER. <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

I thought it was a fantastic read, as autobiographies go. The stories about Jock Stein were great. It really showed that despite he wealth and fame he now has, he has never forgotten where he came from. He also came into management the right way. Starting at the bottom and learning his trade.
I've always had a high admiration for Fergie but he went up even more in my estimation after reading his book.

I thought it was a great read, just confirmed everything i ever thought of him.. all good of course. <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

I thought it was a great read.
Alex Ferguson is like a saviour to me. Yrs of putting up with Man utd underachieving were solved by him and for that im eternally gratefully.

Maybe I wasn`t clear enough - I am referring to the Biography that came out this year about Sir Alex. Written by Michael someone.

It is supposed to view Sir Alex harshly in some respects. Has anybody read it?

giggsgirl,i thought it was an exccellent read.i'd advise you to read it after reding SAF's own memoirs as it covers the ground that SAF wouldn't (including the tribunal he lost). It is a really well rounded book and i'd defy you not to come away feeling an even greater respect for him afterwards. :)
