This is for the gig going folk.

What was the best gig you've been to this year?

For me it would without a doubt be Iggy & The Stooges at some posh place in london (can't remember the name of the venue, but it was like a theatre, it was a bizarre place for such an energetic rock n' roll show). I had a feeling that it wouldn't work in such a venue, but as soon as the audience caught a glimpse of the band and Iggy's crazy bopping (before they played a note) the whole place went fecking crazy.

And worst....

The Sex Pistols, Brixton academy (first night) - I've chosen this as my worst as it was an incredible let down. The pistols are one of my favourite bands and Nevermind Mind The Bollocks is also one of my favourite albums. And when i saw them they were painfully average, and the pistols should be much more than average. It was also weird as the gig was heavily oversold and people were literally getting crushed and passing out. The majority of the crowd were fat over 40's which didn't exactly help matters. It was all far to pantomine, and Johnny didn't really seem into it. Band fecked up a few times aswell. After the gig me and my mate had the worst feeling, like we'd been let down or something. Not to mention we didn't home til' about 5ish.

Oh well heres looking forward to 2008.

No bad ones for me :D

The best has to be the Arctic Monkeys in June/July Lancashire cricket ground, they were really on form.

Muse at Wembley and the Arctic Monkeys last week are the standouts for me.

Worst live act i've seen this year were a band called the Horrors, who supported the Arctic Monkeys, they were absolutely disgracefully bad. Their keyboard player is also a mentalist.

:wenger::wenger:

horror indeed.

Metallica with Machine Head - Wembley Stadium... Amazing gig.

Apart from the wankers who throw piss about...

I went to see them at g-mex on Tues and they were mint in there.

Couple of mates went to bloc party and said they heard from some people who went to the arctics there and said they weren't on form.

Got Editors and Foos lined up for next year, its gonna be good

The Horrors were horrific, even Alex Turner thought they were bad!

Im going Hardfi on Monday, so that should be agoodun! Also got tickets for Pigeon Detectives in May.

I have only seen the one this year U2 at Stadium Australia. They were excellent as always although I'm no fan of huge concerts and if my son had seen them before I might not have bothered. The worst was Kayne West who supported them. Dire just doesn't do the utter awfulness of his performance justice.

No bad gigs, I try to choose wisely.

Highlights would be Underworld at Manc Apollo, Arctics at the LCCC and also the Cold War Kids were pretty decent too.

Arctic's at the cricket ground was my best gig by far

My worst........... Happy Mondays, in Halifax. Pretty shambolic, but I still had fun

Muse at Wembley was a bit shit too

Off to see the Verve on Thursday night. Also got tix for Hot Chip, and Editors

Friday for me bud, can't wait.

Are you going to Radiohead next year franco?

No mate, I'm giving them a miss. Although I love their new album, I don't rate their last 3, so I figure I'll be stood twiddling my thumbs for a lot of the time.

I reckon they'll be on at Glasto this year anyway, so hopefully I'll see them there

Can't wait for the Verve

You surprise me, I love Kid A, Amnesiac and HTTT, some of their strongest work for me.

Glasto would be cool though, not sure I can afford it this year unfortunately.

Btw franco, let us know how thursday night goes if you get the chance.

Too experimental for my liking. I prefer tunes/melodies, that kind of thing.

Will keep you posted on the Verve bud

No bad ones.

Tool (x2), Nine Inch Nails (x2) and Muse (x2) have been highlights.

Dropkick murphys (oslo) and Gogol bordello (oslo) must be the best i have seen this year. Can't remember going to a bad gig this year.

Radiohead next year when tickets go on sale.

Best...... Milburn , They weren't bad.

Worst...... Pigeon Detectives , average and pedestrian.

They're already on sale, infact they may have sold out now, I know the two London dates have anyway.

Best 3:

Booka Shade @ Gaukurinn

Trentemöller @ Listasafnið

!!! (or ChkChkChk) @ Nasa

Worst one:

Bonde Do Role @ Gaukurinn

Manchester weren't on sale last week.

They were, I ordered two, got them on the W.A.S.T.E. pre-sale and they went on general two days later.. They went on sale the same time as all the others (London, Glasgow), the only ones that weren't were the Dublin ones I think.

They are on ticketmaster. Just purchased one myself.

Can't feckin wait :D:D. If I haven't passed my driving test though I may be in a spot of trouble.

Great - The Hives

Awful - The Hellside Stranglers/Murder Junkies show. At the end of the Junkies show, the fat, naked nonce of a drummer rogered himself with his drumstick. That's not what it's for:nono: ffs. Also got stabbed in the eye by some dickhead's spikey mohawk. That's not on.

I saw The Hives earliar this year at a secret show at the hoxton bar and grill (basically a pub :D) twas excellent, i rate them highly.

Best - INCUBUS!! They were fecking incredible at the brixton academy.

worst - east 17, they were randomly at my uni. fecking awful they were. honourable mention goes to coolio who came to my uni a week later and proceeded to dry hump some fat minger onstage.
