best player of my generation, BAR NONE
Although it has to be said, he was never quite as good as when he played for Barcelona
The Ronaldo before the injuries was on track to utterly dominate world football. As brilliant as Zidane was, he isn't on the same page as what Ronaldo was on the way to being. In terms of raw "do-it-yourself" brilliance? Sure... In terms of overall footballing ability and achievement and such, I'd rate Zidane ahead of him... You might not agree but BAR NONE seems a bit heavy-handed, to me![]()
wasnt his wife/gfriend world female keepy up champion as well
im not joking when i say i would have given my right testicle to see him playing for United. Best CF of his generation by miles
Yes.
Pre 98 WC(actually including the WC) he was immense. Had the lot, pace, power, acceleration and fast feet.

The man could just make goals out of nothing. The one in the first compilation where he starts off at the half way line and he has at least 3 players fighting against him for the ball and he just keeps going and cuts inside to finish is fecking rediculous. Drag backs, feints and a cool head he had the full package

True but dont make the mistake of comparing potential to realisation of talent.
Zidane got to a level that makes him in my eyes the best player of my lifetime.
Had ronaldo continued in the same vein as when he emerged he would have not only been the best striker but as you suggest up there with pele and maradona..the sad truth is he didnt...yet stil achieved outstanding levels of performance and success.
But you have to say zizou was the master.
True. Zidane was a great footballer, one of the greatest ever and imo the best of that generation. But Ronaldo was fantastic, obviously, one of the greatest strikersTrue but dont make the mistake of comparing potential to realisation of talent.
