Best Music Player

Just got my new logitech x530 5.1, got a creative card with 7.1 so thats all good. However I find music played through VLC sounds so much better than itunes, however I love the itunes interface. Do i need to tweak iTunes, or are there better players around?

Just tried MediaMonkey, I don't like it for some reason, tried playing with skins and they don't seem to do much. I like my things to look nice I guess heh

VLC is good for films, but you can't queue songs. I just use media player, looks smart and is easy to use.

You can cue songs, it's just a bit more fiddly to do so than with WMP.

amarok is great - I've used iTunes, Winamp and WMP in the past but prefer amarok by some distance.

Not sure what you mean by queing.

I keep my music in folders as FLAC, MP3 or MP4. I just open VLC>File>Open Directory then browse to a folder, click 'open' and vlc plays everything in there in order. Works for me. There's also a playlist function.

That said, the interface in MP11 is good, but VLC comes with all the codecs ready installed.

I've pretty much always used WINAMP.

PS. Have you tried adjusting the equaliser settings? On your audio software and music player.

Yeah i did, fixed it a bit, but still sounds better through VLC. Odd. Winamp could be a shout though

Download SRS Audio Sandbox. Install it. Then tweak settings in the Advanced Controls bit. Worked a treat for me, and you can use any player.
