Who, in your opinion are the best current actresses (or recently) or best recent female acting performances.

Just watching Notes on a Scandal, not a great film but have to say Judie Dench is a great actress.

I'd also say Meryl Streep was excellent in Doubt.

Best actress of all time, really, I'd say.

Cate Blanchett is an excellent actress, she was really good in both 'Elizabeth' films.

Nicole Kidman as well. She's been in some good films, some duds, but she is a very good actress.
 
Meryl Streep is probably the greatest of all-time, or certainly amongst them. Kate Winslet is great too.

Angelina Jolie in underratted in some films.

Yeah, a good actress. Younger than I thought she was as well. She's only like 34 or something. Thought she was much older than that, she's been around for ages.
 
No one has mentioned Helen Mirren yet who can turn out a masterful performance.

Judie Dench is the exact same character in everything she does imho.
 
I was going to say Scarlett Johansson but that's probably just my dick talking so I'll go with Natalie Portman.
