Bernard Hopkins

Have not got to see it in full yet, only highlights. He won all but one round. Maybe one step too far for Pavlik, in terms of weight:

Pavlik had no answers and his loyal trainer, Jack Loew, realized it early but could do nothing about it.

"After three rounds I could see Kelly had nothing,'' Loew said. "He's not a light heavyweight. He's a middleweight, 160 is his weight.

"And the guy he fought is unbelieveable. The stamina he had for a 43-year-old guy was amazing.''

"I just couldn't get off,'' Pavlik said. "I don't know why. It just wasn't me out there.''

Any boxer the other side of 40 who is still near the top deserves respect.

it was a masterclass, reminded me of Calzaghe's performance against Jeff Lacey.

Hopkins' footwork and hand speed were absolutely immense.

this makes the Calzaghe - Jones Jr fight much more interesting, because i can guarantee you, unless Hopkins retires now, he will call out the winner.

and after that performance, and with the mouth he has, it will be very hard for either of them to shirk him.

not just a great fight for Hopkins, but a great fight for boxings fans. this has turned a lot of things upside down.

It was a master class, Hopkins at his best. He is such a great technician; i don’t think anyone has a better boxing brain than Hopkins. Shame though that he didn’t go for the KO.

I was very disappointed by Pavlik, he was miles away from the form he showed when beating Jermain Taylor twice. He looked very flat, the fight was lost after 2 rounds.

I hope Calzaghe doesn’t fight Hopkins again, it wasn’t a great spectacle last time and if Hopkins shows the same kind of form as he did against Pavlik, then I think he would beat Joe.

Beating Roy Jones Jr would be the best way for Joe to bow out.

Pavlik was fighting too much above his natural weight, no wonder he looked ineffective. Hopkins is still great, though.
