Benfica coach Jorge Jesus admits they face losing their top names during the January market.

Defender David Luiz is wanted by Chelsea and Manchester City, Oscar Cardozo is interesting Liverpool, while fullback Fabio Coentrao has been linked with the Reds and Manchester United.

"It is inevitable that players will leave this team in January, or at the end of the season," said Jesus.

"None of the three big clubs in Portugal have the capacity to ensure their best men stay.

"Last year we lost Ramires and Di Maria and this season will be the same."

We don't really need any of them. I'd rather give Fabio an extended run in our team than bring in an expensive left back whose arrival will basically drop Fabio's chances of challenging for his spot to zero.

Luiz looked good everytime I have seen him but there is no need for him either. I'm not even sure he is good enough to cut it in a stronger league.

Cardozo is a great striker, hope Liverpool don't get him.

Coentrao is going to be class.

City are said to be very close to signing Luiz.

Coentrao is said to be very close to signing for Bayern Munich as they are in need for a quality left-back.

Can he play on the wing, Top?

I think he can be re-adapted to the wing as that's were he started. The best we've seen of him, though, has been after his change to left-back. I don't think Cardozo is a striker for a big club from a big league, he's at the top of his level here. David Luiz has been very bad this season but with a new challenge he might come back to his best. It's not a very good display of consistency/mentality though.

Problem with Benfica is how disorganized they are. To be a selling club you have to do the things the proper way, they win a title and risk losing half of their squad in the following 6 months? True that a Portuguese club can't hold it's best players for long, but they should be able to do better than that, if they want to become regular contenders again and not just wait for us to be weaker and win a title every 5 years.

Just look at how Porto anticipated Meireles sale by buying Moutinho, how we held into Falcao and Hulk (who will probably go to the market at the end of this season, after Walter and James had the opportunity to settle in).

Their president is a joke.
