Has anyone been watching this? I've got to admit, I was pleasantly surprised. I saw it advertised on BBC Three and it piqued my interest, but it wasn't until I noticed it on iPlayer the other day that I watched the first episode.

It's actually very good, mixing some strong comedic elements (though nothing slapstick) with a hefty dose of darkness and a heavy plot. I believe this is a six-part miniseries commissioned off the strength of a one-off show they made in early 2008, but I never watched that. It's completely revamped (see what I did there? ;)) as far as I can tell, though, with only the werewolf character played by the same actor. The vampires in the original show appear to have fallen into the age-old trap of having a gothic (and in more modern times, emo) feel to them, and they've scrapped that for this new series. Now they blend in far better, but haven't really lost any of that "vampiric" feel.

I'd recommend this to anyone who's even remotely interested in this sort of thing. As I said, I saw it advertised on BBC Three and assumed it'd be alright, but not very good, but I was wrong. Last time I checked it was the most watched show in iPlayer, too, so perhaps others feel the same way.

It's currently labelled as "series catch-up" on iPlayer, meaning all the episodes will stay there until the last one. Seriously, if you like vampires and stuff, or even just good, dark shows, then this one has been very, very good so far.

i like it the second episode was a bit shit but overall worth a watch

I did the same as you, saw the advert and then watched it on iPlayer. I don't get BBC3 so that's the only way I can get it. It's pretty good, still settling in at the moment, but it'll probably be great by the end of the series.

this is one of two excellent new shows the other being moses jones
that i am really liking at the moment, love the dark stuff mixed with humour.

Just finished watching this. Good show, though season 1 was far better than season two. Didn't like the direction it took at all - it's the interaction between the 3 that makes it fun to watch to me. It's also awfully inconsistent at times, it's like the writers change their mind over and over again.

Just finished season 2 on DVD and I thought it was terrific and I usually don't watch this type of thing. I'm looking forward to season 3 though it may be years before we get it here in Canada.

I love Being Human.

I have watched the pilot, which was great and the first episode of season 1 which I liked much less. The casting changes and the move to less dark (and less funny) humor seemed odd. Does it get better?

I love Dexter but the last series wasn't anywhere near as good as the previous ones.
