Becks or Veron + 20m for Nesta & Crespo

I heard Man.utd have first option on both Nesta and Crespo as Lazio wont qualify for europe and cant afford to keep them. Apparently Nesta's on his way before the world cup and will sign for either £20m or as part of a huge swap invo;ving Becks or Veron and Crespo. i think this would be another master stroke by Sir Alex Ferguson.

From 365.com

"United are reported to be lining up a bid for the Lazio defender at the end of the season.

Lazio president Sergio Cragnotti admits Nesta might have to be sold to enable the club to ease their financial troubles."

Please God let it be true!!!!!!!!

Could you publish your source please.

Some people seem concerned about whether he'd suit the premiership. But surely one of the world's best defenders would take it in his stride. And he's not slow is he?

He certainly doesn't hang about......I would like to read the source of this info'....how realistic is a swap?

The swap is just media speculation at the moment. They do like to engineer transfers, its like they're playing a weird form of championship manager. The Crespo bit is interesting, would RVN Crespo be a complementary partnership?

OK, i know it sonds dubious. I was told about this two weeks ago at an after dinner, attended by some former reds. The same person had previously told me about Forlan 3 weeks before he signed, so i do trust him. However, he did also tell me that Cosmin Contra would be signing for us and he never arrived - so make of it what you will. But i'm positive theres something in the Nesta thing.

But we all knew about the interest in Frolan 3 weeks before it happened!

Good moaning, 2 established football agents have told me that Manchester United will swap Veron or Beckham + £20m for Nesta and Crespo this summer. I first heard this rumour from a 1st division manager only a week after Veron had signed for united - but Beckham wasn't mentioned. Another Ferguson master stroke? remember where you heard it first!

Town: Manchester
Comments: FAO; Police fron Allo Allo, The deal is Veron + £30m for Nesta and Crespo. It was finalised last week and will go through just before the world cup. Apparently, Sven Goran Erikkson instigated the deal (with Fergie's approval) as he thought he would be taking over next season. However it seems Sir Alex decided that he wanted to be the one who guides them to European domination.

No smoke without fire????

i would prefer a more physical defender coming in next year, sombody yet to be established as world class so we can mould them like STAM .. he was known but still improved greatly with us !

TUDOR
HOFLAND
MEXEZ ? - never actually seen him play, but sound good !
That guy YEAPS who played for NAUNTS (hand ball guy) look handy - he is fecking brilliant on Championship manager (usually a good sign !)

Veron+30 mil?????!!??
Thats equal to 60 mil. which IMO is way way too much!!

I don't think we have to sell in order to buy at this point, especially if we do well in the CL, and with the Nike deal kicking in.

If we sold Veron, we would only have to buy another midfielder. I'd rather show some patience with Seba and allow him another year to acclimate to the English game. If his style doesn't gel with the team after the 02/03, then I would look at making a move, but not before.

From ManUtd.com:
Juan Veron has once again denied reports that he will rejoin Lazio at the end of the season.

The Argentinian midfielder, who joined the Reds for a record £28.1 million, has reiterated his intention to see out his United contract and denied reports of a swift return to Serie A.

"When I signed for the club it was on a four-year contract and when I thought about coming to England, I never for a minute thought it would be anything less than that," he told MUTV.

"I don't want to travel all the way here and just come for one season. What was said in the press is quite simply a lie.

"I am absolutely happy here, very happy and I don't intend to return to Lazio. It is rubbish that I am out of sorts here or unhappy, that is not the case.

"I certainly intend to wear the red shirt of Manchester United for a number of years to come."

Right, can we stop talking about this now?

Unless of course Alex wants to sell him... But realistically, SAF will give him a longer chance than one year, Cole didn't settle in immediately. But he better produce the goods the next season! I just hope he does, or that we get the money we spent on him recouped.
