Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has denied that david Beckham picked up a knee injury against West Ham at the weekend.

Reports in the national press suggested that Beckham would miss the Worthington Cup match against Chelsea on Tuesday with a swollen knee.

But the United manager was keen to deny that Beckham had picked up the injury, he said: “I saw that in the paper this morning, but no, he didn’t pick up an injury. He was training this morning, and there is no problem
