It is the Sun tho!!!

What the feck is all that about!

There's wanting your team to perform better and then there is crossing the line and for me them fans whoever they're crossed that line.

the headline says 'beckham in airport row' but the whole team was there, and it seems the whole team was being criticised, so why only mention becks?

but then like warwick said...it is the sun!

Those `Manchester United` fans were cowards. To go up to Becks like that and hurl abuse at him and the other lads is not on. Nor should it be.

Becks would have been feeling bloody disappointed and most likely angry at himself for not doing anything constructive in that disappointing Champions` League qualifier. He didn`t need some yobs getting on his back - he is an unselfish team player and a great example of a decent man. He (along with those of the Manchester United players who really are committed) plays for the team - not for himself.

However, the so-called experts accuse Becks of playing better for England. Even if that were true (which I am not sure it is), it is not as if Becks does not give his all for the Red Devils.

What an insult to the fantastic Beckham. And of course the gutless wonders who hounded Becks wouldn`t have dared go near Roy Keane, would they?

Spineless, gutless, fairweather so-called fans. <img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" /> <img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" /> <img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" />

i dont know if these fans were 'fairweather' after all, they must have been quite commited to travel to the game, however, commited or not verbally abusing the team is not on and actually smacks of some fans reading into what keane has said and taking his side, which really they have no right to do.

I have seen united boo'ed off the field numerous times over the years and there is nothing wrong with that; anything to put a bit of pressure on to get things right is ok, but this type of shit was just a bit to 'in your face' and personal and these so called 'fans' are the reason united now train behind locked gates in carrington.

The 4thegame link shows him in a much different (and more positive light than The Sun. I wonder who is distorting it...

One thing is for sure, the two scenarios can't be confused/mixed up, one is definitely made up.

Who goes for The Sun? <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" />

OIC!

If its true it is disgraceful behaviour by those fans. The team needs their support not their opinion on how the team should be run

From what I understand of reading between the lines of what has been written the United fans in the airport were singing "It's just like watching cITY" as the players walked past. United had just played dreadfully and been beaten in a match they were expected to win, so it's hardly unsurprising the fans were upset.

Then one guy said to Beckham "Why don't you play for us like you play for England?". How many others would echo those thoughts? He doesn't seem to run as much for United as he does for England, and he doesn't seem to care as much for United as he does for England. So was it really such a terrible thing to say, or to be a United fan these days do you have to blindly follow the team, buy all the merchandise that you can, and not have an opinion of your own - just munch your prawn butties and keep quiet? ;)
