For a good in-form non cup tied striker y not look at James Beattie. I know he is no Shevchenko, Jardel or cisse but i reckon he good do a good job for Utd and wouldn't break the bank.
 
Yes I like this chap ... my choice will be either Beatie or Bellion. Beattie I reckon he will shine even better if being given the type of supply he could get in our team ... Just a bit of problem there - he's just a bit too similar to RVN in certain sense - although we don't really mind 2 players of that mould in our team ...

He is still better than Forlan who shines in 1 every 15 games and we paid 7.5m for,which I believe would be more than enough to get Beattie.
;) I would trade Forlan and 3-5mils for beatie who would be a good 3rd striker.

James Beattie is hot and cold like someone said.

He's also a bit of an arsehole apparently.

Why would being an arsehole be a problem? Players dont have to get on with each other to be part of a successful team. Aside from that he'd never be 1st choice and why be a little fish in a big pond when he can be a God in Southampton and maybe get a move to a big club like everton or Leeds who suit his style of play more. We need a nippy goal poacher.
