...has scored a hat-trick.
I reckon we should buy him.
(Hadn't scored for 10 games either).

It's a decent game to watch, not that high standard though.

No you weren't...you knew he was about to hit a rich vein of form.

Liv, dont know if you remember this or not, but someone suggested this in the summer and got laughed at by most of the posters here because Beattie apparently wasnt good enough for United.
I bet theres some choking on big portions of humble pie now.

InCluding me! I was being facetious when I started the thread because every time someone scored a goal, there would be a post saying we should buy that player.

A) They will accept the bid
B) That he will want to come to us. He loves southampton

IMO the above two points are not very important. Any player (from medium or small clubs) who has some ambition and is not a born ABU will like to consider joining us. However I'd add a third point (more important point) to it: what make you think
C) He is not a one-season-wonder and he can make it at the highest level.

Agreed. I think he's a class act. If we're thinking about Klose or Bellion then surely Beattie deserves consideration. Imagine how good the lad would be in a team that creates as many chances as United. I guess some of the posters on here will just wait until Southampton's form takes a dip and then tell us that Beattie was flavour of the month but for me the lad has great ability.

bit arrogantt to think every player will want to play for us. Let's get real here
P.S- this post isnt aimed at Livy, i know you were bein sarcastic, im just talking in general to people who think we should put bids in for flavour of the month/season i.e beattie, rooney

You can't compare PL top scorer with the likes of rooney

I'm glad we didn't get Shearer. He is an idiot. Might be a good player, but doesn't change the fact that he is an idiot.
