Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
Ted Hankey is beating Tony O'Shea. 4 legs to 3 (first to 7).

Suprised not to see a thead on this. It's not like any other sporting events took place today. :wenger:

Always knew O'Shea was versatile. He'll be playing snooker next.

Bar Taylor and Barney i dont think there is too big of a difference. Taylor is just too good at the moment

Hmm maybe, but its everything, not only the players. The crowd is boring as feck on BDO, and clearly PDC is MUCH more popular. I used to be a huge BDO fan, but now its trash compared to PDC IMO

wtf is this BDO?

I thought the World Championships have finished or is this the fake championships?

The BDO is the older competition which is on the BBC.

In the early 90's most of the top players were pissed off with the way the BDO was running the sport (little coverage and even less money) so the set up the WDC (now known as the PDC).

Yeah that's right. There is a difference in the standard (not huge) but it's the way it's presented that's the BDO's downfall. They could really do with juicing it up a bit. Get a bit more music, colour and get the crowd involved more.

I agree, the crowd is the main problem when watching the BDO, the ref doesnt let them get even a single bit rowdy so the place is like a morgue. Hankey is a moanig feck as well, every little bit of crowd noise and he goes off on one so he better hope he never goes to the PDC.

But the PDC is of a better overall standard, has the atmosphere and decent prize money tournaments.

PDC shits all over BDO - better players, better atmosphere, better coverage

When Barney left it was the nail in the BDO coffin - they need to adapt or die.

Or better still, unify the different organisations for the good of darts - but that is unlikely to happen.

Well they do have a yearly Grand Slam thing do they not? Where players from both organizations are in one tourney? Better than nothing I guess..
